Default Do you write your name on books you get?

I notice while browsing through old books in the store that in the past, say before 1990 it seems to have been common, perhaps even standard to write your name and the date or year you got the book. More curiously perhaps it seems to have been common enough for people to also include their address. I found one from 1963 here that has (in adult writing) someone's name and address and that is by no means the first time I've seen it. My dad used to write his name in Irish on books but he seems to have got out of the habit in the 1970s.

Another thing I've noticed but it seems to have also been common for (used) bookstores to stamp the books they sold. It's great seeing these wee stamps with long defunct store names.

I did when I was younger and didn't buy, trade, and sell to used bookstores as many books as I do now. Now, I only write my name on textbooks that I know I'll keep.

I never did, even as a kid. Now that half of my books come from the used bookstore and a quarter of them end up back there, I'd be even less likely to do so.

I almost never did. There are a small handful of books from when I was a kid that my name is in and I think that was only before I loaned them to someone.

Jac, seeing how you believe in yec, what books would you recommend for their exegesis. Im interested in reading a book from the yec side that actually makes sense to me. Thanks
