    Default Gin!!!

I, myself, love it. I like the old school dry gins like Gordon's and Gilbey's. I like the new school user friendly ones like Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray Rangpur. I love a well-made martini. Hell, I like an indifferently made martini. I like gin and tonic. I like gin and juice.

And right now, I'm liking my second tall glass of New Amsterdam on the rocks, no mixer. Boom, baby.

    What say you?

Gin and tonic is my cocktail of choice. Yum. I could go for one right now!

I, too, am a fan of gin. I usually go with Gordan's, but I was fairly pleased when I tried Bombay Sapphire. My introduction to the stuff was Beefeater in a gin and tonic, and then martinis and cigars. That night, I truly became an adult.

I'll drink the occasional Gin and Grapefruit, but it's no Bourbon.
    Welcome to Mellophant.

We started with nothing and we still have most of it left.

We aren't prejudiced here; I made artifex a Maker's Mark sour, with real lemon and homemade simple syrup, before dinner this evening.

Sorry. I'm not fussy, but Oliveloaf and I used to drink a lot of Tanqueray back in the day.

I'm coming around on gin, but bourbon?

Well, lets just put it this way. Scotch > Bourbon.

Not a gin drinker here. But then I rarely drink any hard liquor now anyway. But even when I did, not gin.

AndrewRyan and I are both posting from laptops on the same couch, while watching Man vs. Food and drinking. artifex is asleep in the next room. Is this the biggest MelloFest yet?

It might be, hopefully I can beat it next month Boston.

I am trying to think how many Domebo members showed up at my last Doper/Dumbofest. I might have had over 4. Though Loach barely ever posted here.

So I should buy some gin before hosting a Mellofest?

Either that, or fly to Texas and we'll buy the gin.

INFIDEL DEFILER. Bourbon is the booze I love most truly.

As for gin, I'm willing to admit that I haven't had the right kind, or had it served the right way - but it tastes like Pine-Sol to me.

Gin is booze for people who don't like booze. When I want the fresh scent and flavor of Pine-Sol, I'll make some floor cleaner shooters.
Give me whiskey when I'm thirsty,Give me a cold beer when I'm dry, Give me root beer when I'm sickly, Give me a headstone when I die.

I'm not saying that bourbon is bad. Its just that Scotch is its older, more mature brother. Mmmmmm.

Bah. I like booze, Jack Daniels straight up, single malt scotch, pretty much all of them, but I do like me some gin. Bombay Sapphire may be my favourite, but they're all good. Martini, gin and tonic, Tom Collins...bring 'em on.

My two favorite hot weather mixed drinks (I'm normally a beer drinker) are Gins and Tonics and margaritas.
Having said that I couldn't imagine drinking a gin and tonic in a month with an R in it.

Keep in mind that we live in Texas; the warm weather gets going by March, and it's still a sauna in September/October. We earn those G&Ts!

Yes, we did. And we were good at it, too.

Tanqueray Malacca was fabulous. But it disappeared about as quickly as it appeared.
