Default Who is going to be Curly?

I was looking at Scorsese's IMDB, and noticed he had a movie called Silence in development. It looks really interesting, it's going to star Benicio Del Toro, and I can't wait to see it. I was reading the comments, and somebody said they saw an interview where Del Toro said he was either going to "film Silence or The Three Stooges next."

    WOT?!?!?!?!!??!?!

Naturally, I went to investigate the situation. Del Toro is Moe and Sean Penn is Larry.

    WOT?!?!?!!

Curly apparently isn't cast yet. Who do you think they'll get? I think Jack Black would be perfect, but given the caliber of actors already signed up, I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel Day-Lewis is cast.

I'm still swimming in harmony. I'm still dreaming of flight. I'm still lost in the waves night after night...

I like the Jack Black idea. That is really excellent.

I think Ethan Suplee would be another good choice for Curly.

I'm boggling at this. But I'm rooting for Clive Owen:

I don't care how much talent is thrown at this project, it is destined to fail massively.

Whatever and however much value you ascribe to the original Stooges, even the original cast and producers couldn't keep it good.

This film is doomed, DOOMED I say.

Chalk me up as another who would rather have hot cooking oil poured down my nostrils, than have to endure a Three Stooges remake.

Please not Jack Black. He's gone past Will Ferrell levels of overexposure and is a one trick pony who gets on my nerves.

So since we have a middle aged hispanic dude playing Moe, a middle aged WASP playing Larry the only logical (in the sense that there is any logic here at all) choice for Curley would be Samuel J. Jackson.

And maybe have Helen Hunt on call if we need a Shemp.
