In a word, I'd say the mods here are unobtrusive. But then, I tend to be oblivious, so my observations probably don't count for much.

Hey Tinker/mswas! We're pretty laid back around these parts and there aren't many times discussions get very dramatic, to be honest. I'm not terribly familiar with you from the SDMB, though, so I'm not sure how much you'd enjoy our particular brand of posting here. You were largely into Great Debates, weren't you?

After much trial and error I think we have a very good mod team here. They certainly don't display the contempt for the membership that some of the mods at the SDMB have.
Domebo tried to be a democracy, it doesn't work. Zuul is the board owner now, and she's calm and sensible and yet is not at all afraid of using her dictatorial powers for evil. It works pretty well for us.

I think you'll find it fine here if a little slow. They put up with a lot from the likes of me and some others so I doubt you'll run into any big issues from the mods.

As you can see from this thread, whatever else may be said about the mods here, it's definitely true that they're responsible for a large portion of the board traffic.

Welcome Tinker! For anyone unfamiliar with mswas at the SDMB, let me say he (she?) has a tendency to goad and be cantankerous. That could be just what we need to get some energy in some of our threads. Seems like these days, we have a fair number of threads that reduce to this:

I'd say our mods are overall pretty awesome people, and your odds of being banned for bullshit reasons are fairly low.
