Default Chemical Ali executed in Iraq

Chemical Ali, responsible for the gas attacks against the Kurds in 1988 has been executed in Iraq for genocide.

    Good.

I don't normally agree with the Death Penalty, but he is one of the few people who has really earned it. He didn't just kill Kurds who were fighting against the Iraqi regime, he killed thousands of civilians in gas attacks. Geneva convention be damned as far as he was concerned.

    He will not be missed.

What about good old Comical Ali? He gave me great comic relief during that tumultuous period. I hope they didn't execute him.

Same guy. I hear it's a tough gig at that Baghdad Central Comedy Store, though.

While I agree that good old Chemical Ali "deserved" to be executed, I am wondering how his crimes, horrible as they were, compare to the over 3,000,000 Vietnamese killed in that war, or for that matter, the number of Iraqis killed and maimed in the present invasion.

I guess there's not much hope that Dick Cheney will face a firing squad, though.

Why should he? He's done nothing illegal.

People like (Chemical) Ali Hassan al-Majid are proof that some executions cannot possibly be slow enough.
