Bebop thread
Yeah, so it occurred to me, if this is to be an acceptable board, there should be a thread devoted to one of the established forms of formal, musical expression.
So, why not bebop, to take one well-formed example.

Yeah, just professor harris espousing his.....wait a minute....this is the solo I was upset about.
That really hits it. And i always hated that tune. But BH really kills on that solo.

Holy shit -- just watching that BH video. That is some good stuff. "The minor third that's our family!" Jesus christ, he is preaching!

Not really jazz, but BB King was always kind of one of the most jazzy of blues guys. Maybe not so much as the guitarists out of New Orleans, but that single-note thing still did it. Plus, about the most generous performer I ever saw, from an audience perspective. Plus, he had great (in some cases they were just good) keyboardists with him at all times.

Hey now! Stick with the bebop (and BB King)! Just kidding -- those are good tunes and I'm looking forward to seeing if those versions match my recollections of what's in my "mental" library.

MoreBB. Still my favorite album -- not Dr John on piano, but the kid is doing fine on acoustic piano.
