Left one question unanswered: when was the last time the Presidential couples were united (either both dead or both living)? I initially thought it was 11/21/63, but I realized Herbert was alive but Lou Hoover was dead. So anyone know? In the thread Little Nemo did great legwork finding data, maybe he can help.
What do you mean "united"? The date of the death of the last half of a Presidential couple? Nancy Reagan is the most recent President or First Lady to have died; she passed away on March 6 of this year; her husband died in June 2004.
Yup. With her death, they're all either both dead or both living. Wondered when this was last true.
And with the death of Barbara, this is no longer true.
Now that Bush 41 is gone, it's back to being true
