Flappy Bird - what did I miss?

Seeing as I spend my time playing Candy Crush Saga and trying to complete it without spending anything, I don't download many games onto my phone at all. I also appear to have completely missed the fun and games over Flappy bird. And now, as the creator has pulled it, I'm unlikely to ever find out.

So what did I miss?

Being irritated by 100s of people on twitter complaining about it.

I never even heard about it until was pulled.

Ditto, although apparently he was getting death threats for both making it and then for taking it away.

Sad world, really.

Sad indeed.

And stupid.

Of course, we don't really have and comparison points, so maybe it's as happy and smart as possible.

Anyone who ever makes a death threat should have their sentence tied to the spuriousness of the threat. So if I say threaten to murder the guy who attacked one of my family I should get a few days in gaol but some randomer threatening to murder a man or a woman who released a videogame or had a website or made a comment on tv one time should get 50 years hard labour and half the electric chair.
