Vera Cruz, assuming you mean the Mexican city in the state of the same name. I'm fond of the Gulf of Mexico, but that's a part I've never been to.

Vera Cruz, assuming you mean the Mexican city in the state of the same name. I'm fond of the Gulf of Mexico, but that's a part I've never been to.
Exploring Antarctica, the Mariana Trench, or the Moon?
All interesting, no doubt, but hey, the Moon is the freakin' MOON.
Spam and eggs, Spam and beans, or Spam and eggs and beans?
I DON"T LIKE SPAM! Oh, all right. How about the Spam and eggs and beans, without so much rat in it?
Been to Washington, Yonkers or Zelienople?
Probably Washington, I hear someone important lives there.
Comedy: Standup, sketch or situational?
Sketch. I'm a big Monty Python fan (although I have my favorite standup comics, too).
Fan of John Adams, Judah Benjamin or Jimmy Carter?
As a long-time Boston resident, it's got to be John Adams. <3 <3 <3 obnoxious and disliked <3 <3 <3

I think I'll go for Laura Linney.
The Punisher, Nick Fury or John Constantine
Nick Fury. Don't know the other two well enough.
Fan of Marilyn Monroe, Nathan Hale or Orson Welles?
Like them all OK, but Marilyn Monroe had the best calendar.
Over easy, sunnyside or poached?
Sunnyside.
Fan of Robert Parker, Quincy Jones or Ron Reagan Jr.?
Quincy Jones, I guess? Haven't gotten around to the Spenser books yet, and I didn't even know Reagan Jr. was a person who did things.
Spain, France, or Germany?
Mmm, Spain, maybe. Close between it and France. Germany I still hold a bit of grudge against.
Greece, Turkey or Cyprus?
Greece. The islands look great from all the pictures I've seen.
Fan of Tina Turner, Leslie Uggams or Victor Mature?
Lets go with Victor Mature. (He played Doc Holliday AND was in a bunch of those awesome pseudo-biblical epics? SOLD!)
The Ten Commandments, Spartacus or Ben-Hur?
Spartacus, hands down. It's got the most intelligent plot, though I'm not a massive fan of any of those movies.
Victor Mature, Sonny Tufts or Doug McClure?
I'll stick with Victor Mature as well.
Peter Lorre, Vincent Price or Boris Karloff
Peter Lorre. That bit part in Casablanca does it for me.
Critic of Woodrow Wilson, Malcolm X or William Yancey?
Now that I've looked up Yancey on Wikipedia, I'd say I'm more critical of him.
Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren or Raquel Welch?
I wouldn't kick any of them, in their prime, out of bed, but Sophia Loren was particularly yummy IMHO.
Fan of All the Pretty Horses, Bowfinger or Chicago?
Chicago, excellent musical and film.
Manchester, Birmingham or Liverpool?

Ergh. Edward Scissorhands, I guess.
Westerns, Fantasy, or Detective novels?
Fantasy, followed closely by detective novels. Don't know that I've ever read an entire Western.

I haven't seem any of the films, so I'll go with Gattaca as the only one I know more about than the title.
Monster Truck, Drag Racing or Speedway?
None speak to me that much, but Monster Truck seems like the most fun, and the only one I've seriously considered taking my kid to.
Ale, lager or cider?
Ale, but I'll happily drink all three.
High school, college, or grad school?
College. Met my wife, enjoyed a semester abroad in London, and learned a lot.

Toast and jam, undoubtedly.
Mission to Mars, No Country for Old Men, or Othello?
Othello? I haven't seen the other two.

Roast beef.
The Piano, The Quiet American or Rashomon?
The Piano, its the only one of the three I know.
Avengers Assemble, Prometheus or The Dark Knight Rises?
The beauty of life is that I don't have to choose. But The Dark Knight Rises.
Iron Man, Captain America, or the Hulk?
Iron Man. The first movie with Downey was fan-freakin'-tastic.
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, The Terror of Tiny Town or Unbreakable?
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, not because its a trek movie, but because its a damn good movie
Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger or Mark Hamill?
Hmm. Heath Ledger, I think. He was great as the Joker, but was also very good in The Patriot and A Knight's Tale. I find Nicholson more annoying than impressive, and Hamill just isn't in their league IMHO.
Victory, We Were Soldiers or Malcolm X?
Victory aka Escape to Victory, such a fun movie.
Mona Lisa, Sunflowers or The Scream?
Normally, Sunflowers, but today I was sure feeling like The Scream.

Zorro. Swordfights, duh.
Bagels, scones, or toast?
Bagels, but honestly all three are tits.
Origami, coin collecting, or birdwatching?
Coin collecting, although not terribly diligently. If I see a coin I like, I just put it in a box in my bureau.
Fan of Breaker Morant, Casablanca or Delta Force?
Casablanca, although I like all three films, even Delta Force.
Aubergine, Cucumber or Courgette?
Courgette (though I call it zucchini).
Tuna, salmon or sardines?
Salmon. (I like tuna-as-sushi but the canned stuff is vomitrocious.)
Egg rolls, pork buns, or shumai?
Egg rolls. Love 'em!
Edward Scissorhands, Freaky Friday or Gallipoli?
Gallipoli - excellent movie.

Brain, probably, in a nice sauce.
Claret, port or brandy?
Claret. I like red wine.
Peaches, plums, or apricots?
Peaches, but just barely. All three are divine.
Chihuahua, Dachshund, or poodle?
Dachshunds - they are SO CUTE. The only poodle I ever knew was a horrible vicious beast.
Cake, ice cream, or pie?
Man. All three are great. But a perfect pie just barely edges out a perfect version of either of the others.
Mercury, Venus, or Mars?
Mars, probably, because it might have life.
Jupiter, Saturn or Uranus?
Jupiter. I just think it's crazy how big it is, and how little idea we have of what's really at the center.
Burger King, Wendy's, or Carl's Jr?
Wendy's. Their burgers are slightly better, and I enjoy a frosty.
Dominos, Pizza Hut, or Little Caesars?
Dominos, although it's no huge deal.
KFC, Popeyes or Chick-Fil-A?
KFC. The others just don't measure up, I think.

Killing Me Softly, Larry Crowne or Mister Roberts?
Mister Roberts. A legitimately good movie, in addition to being the only one of the three I've seen.
Knob Creek, Wild Turkey or Jim Beam?
Knob Creek is tasty happiness.
Smirnoff, Stoli, or Absolut?
Of the three, Stoli, but between middle-shelf vodkas like those, top-shelf vodkas like Grey Goose and Belvedere, and bottom-shelf vodkas like Popov and McCormick, I find the differences to be subtle at best and not worth the price discrepancy. OCS says: "Buy the expensive beer, but the cheap vodka: that is the way of wisdom." :D
Frat boy lightning round: Crown, Jack, or Jager?
Jack. Jager is made of distilled regrets and the sins of mankind.
Best hangover cure:
Taco Bell, diner breakfast, or Gatorade and Advil?
I don't know about best, speaking empirically or medically, but my preferred hangover cure is definitely diner breakfast. Any time I'm drinking straight gin on the rocks, artifex already knows it's Blue Plate tomorrow morning. :D
The Smiths, The Cure, or New Order?
The Cure, by a nose.
Notorious, Othello or Pal Joey?
Othello, because it's the only one I'm 100% certain I've seen all the way through, and I want to get this thread going again! :fail: :D
Guacamole, hummus, or onion dip?
Onion dip, no question.
Win, place or show?
Show - although usually when I bet they are fallers.
Jay-Z, Chris Brown or Kanye West?
Jay-Z by far. The guy can rap, and he has a fantastic ear for beats and sounds. Kanye is good but overrated, and Chris hits women.
Athos, Porthos, or Aramis?
Aramis, I always thought he was the one I'd most like to hang out with.
Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or Snow White?
Cinderella. I mean, none of the three of them was exactly Mulan or Belle, but by the standards of early Disney princesses, Cinderella at least...did...something, other than faint and wait to be saved. Also, the mice and birds singing that song while they fixed up her dress was adorable. :D
Pac-Man, Space Invaders, or Donkey Kong?
Space Invaders. Played a little in college.
The Queen, Rashomon, or Sin City?
Rashomon, it's delightfully odd.
Arrakis, Pandora, or Endor?
Arrakis, in the greatest landslide of any of the choices I've made in this thread so far. The Dune books absolutely fired my imagination, taking over for the LotR books, which I read in elementary school. From age 12 to age 18, whenever I closed my eyes, Arrakis was where I went.
Seagal, Van Damme, or Arnie?
Do you mean Ahnuld? Definitely him. True Lies is my favorite movie of his. Hope James Cameron will get around to making a good sequel one of these days.
Tango & Cash, Under the Cherry Moon, or Vertigo?
Under the Cherry Moon. I find Prince's movies inexplicably, compulsively watchable, and while that isn't his best one, it's certainly no exception.
The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., or Finding Nemo?
The Incredibles, but I love Wall-E most of all.
Tombstone, The Great Escape or Dirty Harry.
The Great Escape.

Coffee. Tea is a pleasure; coffee is a necessity.

Watchmen, X-Men or Yojimbo?
X-Men.
1,001 Nights, Grimm's Fairy Tales, or Bulfinch's Greek Mythology?
Ooh, that's tough, because I love all three. Gotta go Grimm's, though; they just speak to the Neanderthal-descended, timorous, forest-dwelling Northern European parts of my ancestry.
Other Baldwin brother: Stephen, Billy, or Daniel?
Aw, you won't even ask me about Adam, from Firefly (heheheheh)? I have no preference as to those three, so... Billy. Because he's first in alphabetical order.
Zardoz, Apollo 13 or Blood Simple?
Apollo 13. Love that movie, even if it does star Tom Hanks.
Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, or Harper Lee?
Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my five favorite novels.
Foster the People, Cage the Elephant, or Young the Giant?
Unfamiliar with all but Foster the People, so I guess them.
Casablanca, Dennis the Menace or Edward Scissorhands?
Casablanca. Hype aside, it really is a great story and great acting.
Socrates, Plato, or Aristotle?
Aristotle, I think, but it's been a long time since college, so don't ask me to defend my choice. (I could have written an "A" term paper on the subject in 1977.)
CNN, Fox News, or Al Jazeera?
CNN, although usually just online at CNN.com.
Fantastic Mr. Fox, Get Shorty or Hellraiser?
All three are cool in their own way (though Hellraiser's visuals have not aged well), but Fantastic Mr. Fox was such an clever, charming film. Loved it.
Picasso, Dali, or El Greco?
El Greco. The museum of his works in Toledo, Spain is amazing. (Also I don't like modern art, as a general rule.)
Tiffany, Cartier, or Harry Winston?
It's all good, but I've only ever bought anything (relatively modest gifts) from Tiffany.
Independence Day, Jack Frost or The Killers?
Independence Day - dreadful film though it is. It's just too much fun.
Batteries, Wind up or Charger?
Wind-up, unless it's an actual useful device I depend on. Otherwise, clockwork is indescribably charming.
Emerson, Thoreau, or Whitman?
uuuuugghgghghghhhh ...
Emerson, I guess. (Thoreau annoys me, and whatever unique thoughts I ever had about Whitman have been long-since overshadowed by Homer Simpson yelling, "I! Hate! You! Walt! Freaking! Whitman! Leaves of Grass, my ass!")
Baroque, Classical, or Romantic?
I'll go with romantic. But it's a tough choice. Late classical/early romantic would be my actual choice. The last of Beethoven's piano sonatas, foreshadowing the romantic period - that's the best.
Grilled, boiled, or fried?
Fried. But maybe grilled, depending on the foodstuff.
Soup, salad, or breadsticks?
Like 'em all, but soup by a nose: tomato, chicken noodle, hot and sour, clam chowder, or any kind of seafood bisque, if you please. Yum.
Love Actually, Man of La Mancha or Notorious?
Man of La Mancha
sedan, pick-up truck, or VW bus?
Sedan. I'm boring like that. :D

Rembrandt I think.
Slugs, Snails or Puppy Dog tails?
Puppy dog tails
Peppermint patties, Tootsie rolls, or Butterfingers?
Butterfingers, I guess. Not a huge fan of any of them.

In terms of being willing to touch one, garter snakes (and I have). In terms of coolness, rattlers.
The Onion Field, Pinocchio or The Queen?
I enjoyed The Queen far more than I expected to.
Canada, New Zealand, or South Africa?
I would love to visit New Zealand!!!
Ginger ale, cream soda, or Fresca?
Ginger ale. It's always good, especially when I'm sick. Cream soda is nice, but too sweet for every day. Fresca is what the demons offer the damned in Hell.
Blue ink, black ink, or green ink?
Black ink. I work in a medical office, and non-black pens are the bane of my existence.
Afterlife: Christian heaven, perpetual cycle of reincarnation, or total oblivion?
Total oblivion - in terms of what I believe is the most likely. (As to what I'd want, I suppose heaven sounds good, although I'd have to read up to be sure)
Paper cut, canker sore, or bunion?
Paper cut, if choose I must.
Reality Bites, Superman or Taken?
Superman, on the basis of theme song alone.
Potato salad, cole slaw, or cantaloupe?
I like 'em all, and it depends on what else is being served with them, but... cole slaw. If it's the creamy, non-vinegary kind.
Underdog, Veggie Tales or While You Were Sleeping?
While You Were Sleeping. The other two are...even worse. :fail:
Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, or Freddie Krueger?
Michael Myers, of course.

The Atlantic. But really, I mostly just read National Geographic.

Ooo, that's a toughie. Love 'em all. If I had to choose, though... shrimp.
X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes, Yojimbo or Z. by Costa-Gavras?
Yojimbo - love a good samurai story.
Wimbledon, Roland-Garros or Queens?
I'm not a huge tennis fan under the best of circumstances, but watching people play tennis on grass or dirt is extra silly. Give me Queens. :D
Caviar, foie gras, or truffles?
Truffles. Mmmm.
Diving, swimming, or water polo?
Water polo. I am endlessly intrigued by how they train the horses to hold their breath that long.
Boxing, wrestling or fencing?
I think all three are cool, but I was a wrestler myself in high school, and retain a fondness for the cauliflower-eared sport in my heart.
Gas, grass, or ass? (No one rides for free!)
Each have their uses. But given the choice of touching the finest variety of any, I'll take ass every time.
As the World Turns, Boston Public or Chicago Hope?
Umm..Chicago Hope ios the only one I know of those and it wasn't that bad, so that one.

Dallas, Endeavour or Fawlty Towers?
Fawlty Towers - So much comedy in so few episodes
The Wire, The West Wing or CSI
The Wire, though none of these shows are my favorite.
Avengers, Spider-Man, or The Dark Knight?
Avengers. And not just because I'm (very briefly) in it.
Gomer Pyle UMSC, Hawaii 5-0 or I Love Lucy?
Hawaii Five-0, or as I like to call it - 'Hawaiian Batman & Friends'.
Psych, Monk, or House?
House by default, since I always enjoyed it and have never watched either of the others.
Zima, wine cooler, or MGD 64?
MGD 64. That's the one that tastes like horse-piss, right?

The Odd Couple, because it's the only one I've seen.
A vacation spent hiking the Appalachian Trail, hitting the Smithsonian and other Washington DC attractions, or lolling on the beach in Hawaii?
I've done all three and loved each, but of the three, the Washington sights would win out by a nose.
Picket Fences, Quincy or Rescue Me?
Probably Picket Fences. Watched it fairly regularly for a while.
Left field, center field or right field?
Right field. Spent some time out there as a kid.
Star Trek: The Next Generation, Tom & Jerry or The Unit?
TNG.
Printer, photocopier, or fax machine?
Printer. I hate fax machines so badly.

No hard feelings, man, but I'll take coffee. Black, with lots of sugar.
The Virginian, The Waltons or The X-Files?

Like them all, and it largely depends on season and circumstances, but overall, IPA.
Ghosts, ghouls or goblins?
Goblins, it's just a fun word to say.
Orcs, trolls, or wargs?
Gotta go with trolls. Very cool. (I always thought Sean Bean said his line in Moria with just the right mix of exasperation and Oh-shit-what-else-would-it-be resignation: "They have a cave troll!")
A fan of You Can't Take It With You, Zardoz or A Star is Born?
Sniped! I'm leaving my answer anyway, since I thought hard about it! :D
Orcs. I always loved how Tolkien made them cruel and evil, yet with brains and plausible motivations. Their arguments among themselves, on the plains of Rohan and at Cirith Ungol, were enlightening. By comparison, a lot of other LotR baddies - trolls, the Watcher in the Water, even the Balrog - seemed to exist more as mere foils or obstacles for the good guys.
----------------------------
You Can't Take It With You. I always thought it was cute.
Elves, dwarfs, or hobbits?
Elves. I'm more like a hobbit, but elves are just inexpressibly great. Plus, immortality.
Arwen, Galadriel or Eowyn? (I think we've done this before, but geekdom means always re-hashing.)
Eowyn. Beacuse SWORDS, and HORSES, and me being 12 when I first read Lord of the Rings. :hist:
Narnia, Hogwarts, or Middle Earth?
Middle Earth, by a greater margin than any other choice I've made in this thread. I think of Middle Earth as the greatest feat of imagination of the three anyway, but that's compounded by my having encountered it at the perfect time for it to fire my imagination (age 10-12). Honestly, I've never even been able to finish all the Narnia books.
Star Wars universe, Star Trek universe, or Duneiverse?
Maybe Star Trek universe. It seems a bit better thought out than the Star Wars universe, and not nearly as creepy and dangerous as the Duneiverse.
Kindle, Nook or iPad?
I own a Kindle and artifex owns a Kindle Fire. I guess we've voted with our wallet. :)
(Pet): fish, hamster, or parakeet?

Gladiator, even with Mr Grumpy Aussie in.
My Little Pony, Barbie or Cabbage Patch Kids?

Pele. Classy guy.

K2, being the only one of the three I've seen.

Pretty, witty or gay?
Witty. I dig the clever and amusing.

I haven't seen the other two, but I hate Vertigo.

Peppermint. Love it in candy, ice cream and/or toothpaste.
Dallas, El Paso or Fredericksburg?
I dunno, maybe El Paso because of the song.

Minneapolis!
South America, Africa, or Asia?
South America; I've recently got a bee in my bonnet about how I'd like to travel to Argentina.
Australia, Europe, or North America?
Australia. Never been there, have read a lot about it, and would love to go sometime.
Parma Heights, Quincy or Raleigh?
Raleigh, because people would go there on the "Andy Griffith Show" for things that were bigger than in Mayberry or even Mount Pilot.
Heroin, morphine or hashish?
Never tried any of them, and never expect to. Hashish has kind of an exotic ring to it, though, so I'll say that.
Steubenville, Toledo or Uniontown?
Steubenville; that area of Ohio near the WV border can be pretty nice. And there's a historic fort!
Alfredo, pesto, or marinara?
